SEStran sponsoring sustainable transport to the gathering 2010

"
The South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran) is one of seven statutory bodies  implementing regional transport planning and delivery Scotland-wide. Our aim is to develop a comprehensive, sustainable, transportation system that will enable business to function effectively, and improve access to health care, education, public services and employment opportunities for all.

The task is urgent. South East Scotland’s population is expected to grown by more than 10% by 2023. If future generations are not to face increasing congestion and a major threat to the economy and the environment, we must achieve a step-change in public behaviour towards transportation.

Everyone can contribute towards this aim by making sensible personal transport choices, so why not start today? Use the Traveline link to plan your journey to the Gathering by bus or train, or, if you live nearby, why not walk or cycle?
If you really need to use the car, click on the Tripshare link to find delegates from your area with which to share the journey. Four adults sharing a car takes three vehicles off the road - and saves you money too.

Enjoy the Gathering. There’s lots to do and to see. Please visit our information stall and find out more about the benefits of travelling sustainably.

It's up to all of us to safeguard the future for the next genertation. Tomorrow starts today."
