| Event Title | Rural Development for Communities 2014 – 2020 |
| Event Time & Date | 2:30pm – 4:00pm, 01 March |
| Room | Dochart Suite 1 |
| Event Theme | Learning, Training & Employment |
| Event description | Do you live or work in rural Scotland? Is there a rural dimension to your organisation’s work? Do you believe that rural development should include the social and community aspects of rural life?
If so, come along and have your say in this seminar on how Scotland’s multi-million pound rural development budget should be spent over the next decade. There will be a chance to hear from the Scottish Government about the development of the new programme and from a range of speakers active in rural development. The vast majority of current Scottish Rural Development Programme funding goes to farmers and land managers, with only a small proportion being invested in community-based initiatives and enterprises. With a new programme being designed over the next year, SCVO believes it’s time to make the case for a fairer share of the budget for Scotland’s rural communities. The Scottish Government is committed to building the resilience and capacity of Scotland’s rural communities. Come and join the debate on how they could use the main funding instrument at their disposal to achieve these goals. |
